Corporate giant defeated in 12-year struggle with Brooklands estate workers

It was a victory long over-due. The Corporate Giant - Lion Group could have sealed and resolved the issue a decade ago, but they choose the part of arrogance and sheer disregard to their toiling workers. The workers then took them to a protracted war which took 12 years to complete with the workers emerging victorious.

The victory parade started at a critical junction of this plantation. With drums and banners, they marched to the estate field, where a decorated stage was awaiting for the victory celebration to role on.

Victory celebration at Brooklands Estate, another socialist victory!

10TH. February 2008, PSM and its front Organisation will be proclaiming another victory celebration. This time with the plantation workers from Brookland’s Estate, Banting whom have finally signed their Sales and Purchase Agreements to their low cost terrace houses after a 13 year of struggle !

The Thirty-five people including 12 PSM leaders as well as front leaders were charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Monday for taking part in an “illegal assembly” on Saturday-26th. January 2008.

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) condemns the arrest and the charge brought against 35 people for participating in a protest against the Government’s imminent move to increase the price of fuel after elections.

This morning, around twenty people converged at the Agenda Istimewa site office at Kesuma Lakes. But this time, they were not there to hold another demonstration or protest. They came joyfully to sign the Sales and Purchase Agreement which will enable them to become owners of a low cost house which they obtained it for half price as they were all given compensation of RM 17,000 each.

Berembang eviction declared illegal

At 10.45 am, Justice Datuk Mariana gave a judgment at chambers in giving the Kampung Berembang villagers a 3-0 victory over the developer. The news of the victory was announced by Edward Saw to the villagers outside the court which brought applauses, joy and a victory long overdue.
