Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) issued a memorandum to the Perak State Election Commission for its delay in the issuance of a permit to register voters during the Thaipusam celebrations on January 30. The protest memo was handed over to its Deputy Director, Wan Mohammed Salleh by PSM Deputy Chairman, Ms M. Saraswathy. She was accompanied by PSM Committee member K. Segar Kunasekaran.
PSM had applied to the Election Commission last December for approval to register voters in view of the high number of unregistered voters in the country (500,000 in Perak). The party was then informed that its appointment letter would be released within two weeks. It had requested for 10,000 application forms. However, PSM was later informed that such a number would require the EC to send its officers along for the exercise. This was made conditional upon the release of the registration forms. The party found this strange as no such condition was extended to other political parties. ARTIKEL PENUH (MORE) »

The government should auction the more than 60,000 Approved Permits, normally given to cronies instead of implementing the ‘absurd’ goods and services tax, said DAP leader Tony Pua.
“They (the government) could get RM2.4 billion from this, about RM1.4 billion more than what they could get from the implementation of the GST tax,” he added.
He pointed out that the government had not exhausted all possible avenues to generate revenue and there were many alternatives to the GST, with the auctioning of APs being one of them. ARTIKEL PENUH (MORE) »
For 30 years, a group of farmers and livestock owners has invested time, energy and thousands of ringgit to make a living on former mining land in Tanjung Tualang, Perak.
Last October, however, the Kinta land office ordered the 45 to vacate the 80ha site located near Batu Gajah, saying that it belongs to the state.
The furious settlers are now attempting to fight back with the help of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) to save their oil palm stands, fish ponds and cattle rearing activities. ARTIKEL PENUH (MORE) »

- Pandangan Dr. Nasir Hashim – Pengerusi Parti Sosialis Malaysia
ARTIKEL PENUH (MORE) »

PSM CONDEMNS ATTACKS ON CHURCHES ! NAJIB AND HISHAMUDDIN SHOULD TAKE FULL RESPONSIBLITY!
Parti Socialist Malaysia is shocked to learn that three churches have been attacked in the last 12 hours in the Klang Valley – the Assumption Church in Jalan Templer, Petaling Jaya and the Life Chapel in Section 17, Petaling Jaya and the Metro Tabernacle Church in Desa Melawati, Kuala Lumpur. The three-storey Metro Tabernacle church in Desa Melawati, Kuala Lumpur, part of the Assemblies of God movement, was set ablaze in the attack which took place around midnight.
We cannot deny the fact that the attacks are somehow related to the High Court ruling last week which ruled in favour of the Catholic weekly, The Herald newspaper, which has used ‘Allah’ as a translation for “God” in its Malay-language section. The ruling however was suspended on Wednesday pending an appeal by the government. ARTIKEL PENUH (MORE) »
