This year’s congress is special in that it commemorates a decade of PSM’s existence in the Malaysian political scene. It also is the first congress since two party members were voted into political office in the last general election, breaking the four-decade drought in which there were no socialist representatives. It was a first step to victory for Dr. Nasir the socialist ADUN for Kota Damansara and the residents affected by the construction of the Carrefour Hypermarket in Section 11 Kota Damansara, when the Carrefour representative agreed to consider a relocation.

Semenyih, May 18 2008

It came as a shock to me to see more than 900 Bangladeshi citizens in small groups chatting and hanging and some looking far away…around the PSM Semenyih branch office at Fasa 5, Bandar Rinching. This was at the end of February 2008. We were informed that they were stationed there by their Embassy, pending employment agencies finding them job.
