The Parti Sosialis Malaysia strongly condemns the use of violent sexist threats against YB Rodziah, State Assemblywoman for Batu Tiga Shah Alam by the hooligans responsible for the cow-head incident during the recent failed dialogue session attempted by the Selangor State government. We are shocked at the boldness with which the hooligans were able to threaten the state assemblywoman with ‘Rodziah, saya akan rogol you sekarang’(Rodziah, I am going to rape you now).

Today as we celebrate International Women’s Day, Party Socialist Malaysia (PSM) recognizes the contribution of the many women and men who struggled to bring changes to this world and those who had tirelessly worked towards the liberation of women from the dominant classes.
Industrial Revolution in Europe has led the path for women to come together and demand for equal rights and better working conditions. Among the significant events are the strike by garment workers in New York city on 8 March 1857 and the strike on 8 March 1908 by women workers in needle trade in New York who demanded right to vote and an end to child labour. In 1910, the Second Socialist International adopted the proposal from German socialist Clara Zetkin to proclaim 8th March as International Women’s Day to honor the working women in the world.

Eli Wong yang ku kenali
Saya telah mengambil masa yang agak lama untuk menulis artikel ini. Saya merasakan seperti agak susah untuk menulis satu artikel apabila orang yang kita tulis adalah seorang kawan karib yang kini menghadapi krisis peribadi dan krisis politik amat serius. Saya seperti terpegun dengan perkembangan ini. Setiap hari ada perkembangan baru dan ada juga desakan dari kawan-kawan yang mahukan saya menulis sesuatu memandangkan mereka tahu saya lama mengenali Eli. Akhirnya saya berusaha untuk menulis juga dan saya memilih untuk menulis dalam bahasa Malaysia memandangkan sudah ada banyak tulisan yang sudah pun keluar dalam akhbar Bahasa Inggeris yang memberi gambaran yang agak menyokong kepada kawan ku, Elizabeth Wong.
Pada 22 Jun 2008 (Ahad),Pusat Khidmat PSM Cameron telah mengadakan satu sesi perbincangan untuk ibu-ibu tunggal. Sesi tersebut telah berlangsung di Rumah Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Cameron Highlands (RKICH). RKICH dikendalikan oleh komrad baru di Cameron, Sdr. Simon. Sesi ini bermula bermula pukul 2.00 petang. Saudari Veronica telah membantu kami menjalankan sesi ini.

It was another interesting session at the Kuala Lumpur Industrial Court today in Chairman Rajandran Nayagan’s Court. The court heard submissions on the case against Guppy Plastic Industries Sdn.Bhd. for dismissal of nine production operators of the company on reason that they have attained retirement age at 50.
