This morning, leaders of Parti Sosialis Malaysia led by National Chairperson Dr. Nasir Hashim and Deputy Chairperson M.Saraswathy handed a seven point memorandum to the Minister, Dato S. Subramaniam.
The meeting started with Party’s Secretary General S. Arutchelvan thanking the Minister for the meeting, as before this, only a demonstration outside the Ministry would get some senior officials to attend to the memorandum. The Minister replied that he was exposing us to a new culture.

8 Ogos 2008, Alor Setar
Pagi ini, Pejabat Menteri Besar Negeri Kedah telah dikunjungi oleh para bekas pekerja Ladang Victoria yang menuntut campurtangan segera daripada MB Kedah untuk menyelesaikan masalah perumahan akibat pemberhentian kerja yang telah berlanjutan untuk lebih 10 tahun.
Pegawai Khas kepada MB, En. Mohd Ismadi Abdul Kadir, telah turun menerima memorandum yang diserahkan oleh para bekas pekerja Ladang Victoria. En. Ismadi telah berjanji akan mengunjungi Ladang Victoria sebelum bulan puasa (iaitu dalam masa dua minggu) dan berbincang secara mendalam dengan para pekerja untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini. PSM Johor Mengucapkan Syabas kepada Keputusan Peneroka Bandar Kampung Baru Plentong Tengah (KBPT) untuk Menentang Pengusiran secara Paksa
Pada cuaca hari Ahad yang begitu panas sekali, lebih daripada 300 penduduk KBPT telah berhimpun di surau kampung untuk membuat suatu keputusan kolektif yang teramat penting bagi mereka. Kesemua mereka telah bersetuju membantah notis mahkamah yang mengarahkan mereka keluar dari tempat tinggal pada 14 Ogos dan terus pertahankan hak perumahan mereka. Cameron Highlands, 11 Julai 2008
Pada 11 Julai 2008, pegawai dari Jabatan Tenaga Kerja, En.Lam, telah melawat Ladang Blue Valley untuk mendapatkan gambaran sebenar situasi yang sedang dialami oleh pekerja-pekerja di situ. Kuala Lumpur Majistret Court, 2 July 2008
This afternoon, Magistrate Maimoonah Aid dismissed the case against two PSM members T.Mohan dan Saravanan after the Prosecution requested yet another postponement as no police witnesses could be present today. They requested the court to give another final date. Lawyer for the duo, Comrade Amer Hamzah urged the court the dismiss the case as the case has dragged on for six years and the police has kept asking for last dates but everytime fail to present in court. Amer Hamzah also said that the reason given by the Prosecution is unacceptable. Magistrate Maimoonah than ruled that the duo be acquitted. ARTIKEL PENUH (MORE) »
On 18th June 2008, the Application for Leave by the Ex-Kamiri rubber tappers was turned down, with costs awarded to Guthrie by a 3-man panel at the Federal Court in Putra Jaya. But paradoxically, the 27 workers who had been retrenched in 1999 by Guthrie, were happily calling the occasion a victory, while Guthrie must be ruing the day when it decided to use its power and financial clout to take a legal short-cut to evict its former workers!
This story begins 9 years ago. These 27 former employees of Guthrie, many of whom are third generation workers with Guthrie, refused to move out their estate quarters in 2000, because they felt that the RM 330 per year of service that was offered by Guthrie as retrenchment benefits was grossly insufficient. Semenyih, May 18 2008
It came as a shock to me to see more than 900 Bangladeshi citizens in small groups chatting and hanging and some looking far away…around the PSM Semenyih branch office at Fasa 5, Bandar Rinching. This was at the end of February 2008. We were informed that they were stationed there by their Embassy, pending employment agencies finding them job. Sungai Siput, 17hb. Mei 2008
Sambutan Hari Buruh tidak sempurna di bumi Sungai Siput tanpa persembahan konsert Titisan Peluh yang disambut setiap bulan Mei sejak 22 tahun yang lalu. Tahun 2008 ini mencatatkan satu lagi kesinambungan peringatan perjuangan warga pekerja melawan kuasa majikan di mana Konsert Titisan Peluh telah diadakan dengan jayanya pada 17hb Mei yang lalu.
Konsert kali ini adalah kali pertama ia diadakan dimana calon PSM menjadi wakil rakyat mengantikan Samy Vellu, wakil dari BN. ARTIKEL PENUH (MORE) »
