Socialists expose BN's misuse of power!

5th March 2008

Today two comrades from Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM), who are campaigning for Dr. Nasir Hashim, socialist candidate for DUN Kota Damansara, exposed misuse of school premise and state logo by MCA, one of the coalition parties in Barisan Nasional. This incident took place in front of MBSA Hall in Pekan Kg. Baru Subang. There was a banner in Chinese clearly showing the state logo together with MCA logo.

The banner in Chinese was about a ceramah organized by MCA and BN on 5th March 2008 from 7pm till 10pm at Dewan Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Subang. Political parties are not allowed to use public premises, such as school and community hall for their election campaigns.Furthermore, MCA the component party of the ruling Barisan Nasional even conveniently used the State Government logo on its banner. This is a deliberate use of government apparatus, when the ruling party is not in government.

After getting the translated information from the banner, the comrades T. Mohan and Nithiyaavaani went over to the school where the ceramah will be held. Another misuse of public school was exposed. Comrades noticed that the Barisan Nasional's Parlimentary candidate election poster was pasted all over the school wall. The school guard revealed that the MCA political talk will be held at the school hall as stated on the banner. The school is one of the polling streams for the election.

After discussion with Dr. Nasir, both comrades lodged a police report. The Police Investigating Officer promised to check whether the MCA talk had a valid permit. The Barisan Nasional government misuse of power and corruption has gone overboard. They blatantly use public facilities for their own political agenda.

"This shows that 50 years of the Barisan Government has made them arrogant. They think it is their father's property!" That is why local council elections are important to reinstate local administrative power to the people"
